Christmas is all about love, family, kindness, and giving. But when fundraising for nonprofits … it’s also about thinking of and executing creative and effective year end fundraising campaigns. Around 25% or more of all annual giving in the U.S. occurs during the last three months of the year, and in this backdrop, Christmas has always stood out as a major event. Nonprofit organizations see a huge spike in donations while rallying campaigns around it.
With less than a week to go, it’s time to buckle our seat belts and give our campaigns that last minute push. Think of these 6 days before Christmas as extremely crucial.
Here, is a day by day break up plan for the last six days before Christmas. Each day has been earmarked with a particular task based on its importance and relevance in your fundraising strategy.
BONUS: Start early (ideally September!) and save yourself the pain of rushing through the most important phase of your nonprofit fundraising season.
Set smart goals, plan your budget, get your fundraising team together, develop a fundraising campaign calendar or timeline, segment your communication to engage your donors better and plan for what medias you want to use to reach that segmented audience. It is often the most important but neglected area.
Track your progress and look for what’s working for your donors and which areas need improvement. Repeat the process and you have yourself a successful year end fundraising campaign.
