This Sunday, we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—our core profession of faith and the most intimate mystery of who God is. Trinity Sunday Reflections: Embracing Love and Generosity
One of the most moving insights about the Trinity is this: the Holy Spirit is the overflowing love between the Father and the Son. That love does not close in on itself—it pours outward. It creates. It invites. It welcomes. And that is the heart of the Christian life: to love as God loves. Not cautiously. Not conditionally. But abundantly, fearlessly, and outwardly.
In our lives and in our parishes, this feast is an invitation to look beyond ourselves and ask:
Who needs to be welcomed into my life, my circle, my faith?
How can I reflect God’s expansive love in my relationships, service, or even just my presence?
We know that all giving of time, attention, support, or resources begins with a relationship. It begins with noticing. By reaching out. With listening. And that’s where we as a Church must always begin, too. This Trinity Sunday is the perfect moment to build those connections that lead to grace-filled transformation, not because we’re asking for something, but because we’re creating space for someone.
3 Reflections of this week
- Where in your life can love look more outward than inward?
- Who in your parish or neighborhood needs to feel seen, included, or simply listened to?
- How might generosity flow more freely if it began with conversation rather than expectation?
Let’s be people of relationships, not transactions. Let our parishes be communities of invitation, not isolation. And may our love, like God’s, overflow.
