Spread the love

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill

These lines perfectly sum up how charity goes on to make us more humane. The importance of spreading more awareness about selfless giving through the linkage of all the important stakeholders has always been deeply understood. With these ideals, the United Nations General Assembly has come up with the International Day of Charity in 2012. It is celebrated on September 5, each year. This day was chosen to commemorate the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa, who received the Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress.

Charitable giving has been growing over the years and has also seen a considerable amount of change. With technological innovations, online giving has made it really easy for people to give. More and more people have joined  in and it doesn’t come as a surprise that the share of online and mobile giving has been picking up exponentially. Here, in this International Charity Day infographic below, we have covered the latest trends and figures on online giving, mobile giving and charitable giving in its totality.
