As you turn on the lights of your tree, remember these beautiful words from Pope Francis:
“The lights of the Christmas tree remind us that Jesus is the light of the world, the light of our souls that drives away the darkness of hatred and makes room for forgiveness.”

Do you have a Christmas Creche or Manger in your home? St. Francis of Assisi is credited with creating the first nativity scene in 1223. A lovely and meaningful way to honor the birth of Christ, bless your creche on Christmas Eve using this prayer:
God of every nation and people,
from the very beginning of creation
you have made manifest your love:
when our need for a Savior was great
you sent your Son to be born of the Virgin Mary. To our lives he brings joy and peace,
justice, mercy, and love.
Lord, bless all who look upon this manger;
may it remind us of the humble birth of Jesus, and raise our thoughts to him,
who is God-with-us and Savior of all,
and who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
