This Sunday’s readings are a powerful reminder of the spiritual and emotional fractures we all experience—and God’s persistent call to unity, healing, and hope.
In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus is accused of being “out of His mind” by His own family. He responds with both challenge and invitation:
“If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.”
“Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”
It’s a moment that speaks to our times. Division—whether in families, churches, or society—weakens us. But Christ offers something greater than shared blood: shared mission.
In Genesis, we revisit the moment of separation—when Adam and Eve hide from God in shame. Yet even there, God searches for them. In the second reading, Paul reminds us that “we do not lose heart”—because we live by faith, not by fear.
This Sunday, we are invited to rebuild the house with mercy, forgiveness, and purpose. We are called to remember that church is not just where we go—it’s who we are together.
