Good Shepherd Sunday Reflections

Good Shepherd Sunday
Spread the love

This week, the Church joyfully welcomed Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, as the 267th successor of St. Peter.

Born in Chicago in 1955 and a member of the Order of St. Augustine, Pope Leo XIV has served as a missionary, bishop, canon lawyer, and, most recently, Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops. He brings pastoral wisdom, cross-cultural experience, and deep spiritual humility to his new role as our global shepherd.

“The Church walks boldly into the future, guided by a shepherd chosen through prayer, discernment, and hope.”

Parishes across the country are encouraged to pray for Pope Leo XIV this weekend and share his story as a source of inspiration.

Mother's day

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we remember all those who reflect the love of the Good Shepherd—mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, and spiritual mentors who have shaped our hearts and nurtured our faith.

A Prayer for Mothers

Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of our mothers—
for their love, wisdom, sacrifices, and constant prayers.
Whether near or far, with us or in eternal rest,
May they know our gratitude and Your blessing.

For mothers who gave us life and nurtured our faith,
for spiritual mothers and mentors,
for grandmothers, godmothers, and all women who reflect Your love—
We ask you to bless and strengthen them.

May Mary, Mother of the Church,
be their model and intercessor.
 Amen.Good Shepherd Sunday

Good Shepherd Sunday invites us to reflect on how we each respond to Christ’s voice through prayer, service, family life, or ministry.

Encourage your community to:

  • Reflect on those who inspired their vocation
  • Honor mentors and guides in their faith journey
  • Share how God continues to call them forward

This season is a powerful opportunity to gather and share faith-filled stories from your parish community:

Why GiveCentral?

At GiveCentral, we believe giving isn’t just about technology—it’s about relationships.

People give because they feel connected to their parish, their mission, and their faith. But in today’s world, that connection must be simple, fast, and personal.

Good Shepherd Sunday

“We’re here to make generosity easy, personal, and joyful—for everyone in your parish community.”

Let Us Walk Together This Weekend

We celebrate:

  • The arrival of Pope Leo XIV
  • The vocation and strength of our mothers
  • The voice of the Good Shepherd calling each of us by name

And we do it together—through gratitude, prayer, and the stories that make us one.

With faith and friendship,
Your Friends at GiveCentral
