September content calendar: Ideas and templates

Plan ahead for your September nonprofit content calendar with our inspirational ideas for engaging social media posts. Throughout this article, we’ve put together several templates that you can use or edit to suit your own needs, to help you create your social media posts this fall.

We share these ideas every month, that include holidays, feast days and world observances along with some trending hashtags, so that you are always ready.

Bonus Tip: Some of our holiday templates also come along with email templates that are already a part of your GiveCentral communication dashboard. All you need to do is login, click and select a template you want to use and share with your community. It’s that easy!

Think about important fall dates!

The fall holidays, commonly known as All Saints ‘ Day holidays, include public holidays and other important events that should not be missed.

Yet content managers miss out on opportunities because they don’t plan their editorial calendar in advance.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Which event is relevant to my community?
  • Do I want to link certain posts to specific events or fundraising activities?
  • What visuals do I need to make my posts impactful?
  • How can I engage my community with the feelings associated with the events highlighted?
  • What are the issues or questions that my community faces during these holidays / vacations and how can I help them solve them with great content?

In addition to focusing on key, well-known events that all large companies deal with, you can take advantage of smaller events that affect a small portion of your audience or a niche.

Let’s get started!

Use these ready-made posts to share with your social media audience on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Adding pictures to your posts increases engagement on your post. Right click on the images you want to use to save them. Don’t forget to ask your users to spread the word for you!
