As Lent winds down, many of us wonder, Where did the time go? You could set big intentions at the beginning. Maybe you’ve kept them. Or maybe, like many of us, life just got busy. Either way, Holy Week is here. It’s not the end, it’s a fresh chance. A moment to slow down, breathe, and take in what this season is about. Let’s explore how we can make the most of these final days and, more importantly, how to carry Lent beyond Easter and Holy Week.
Holy Week: A Gentle Walk Toward Hope
Holy Week isn’t just a series of church services. It’s a journey through some of the most powerful moments of Jesus’ life, each day offering us something to reflect on.
Here’s a simple breakdown:
- Palm Sunday: A moment of welcome. Jesus enters Jerusalem. People wave palms in celebration. It’s joyful, yet we know what’s ahead.
- Holy Monday–Wednesday: Days of quiet. Often overlooked, these are good moments for personal reflection. Think: what’s cluttering your heart right now
- Maundy Thursday: The Last Supper. A reminder that love often looks like serving others.
- Friday: The cross. A day of silence, sacrifice, and surrender. Sometimes love is painful, but always powerful.
- Holy Saturday: Waiting. In between grief and joy. A space to breathe.
- Easter Sunday: Light returns. Hope rises. The tomb is empty, and we are invited to begin again. Keep giving with purpose.
