4 Things to remember for a successful fundraising for nonprofits

Americans gave $410 billion to charities in 2017, which is an increase of 5% compared to the previous year. Even though the amount of giving is increasing year on year,  funds and attention span of donors are limited and is not easy to come by. One needs to plan strategically keeping the donors at the center of all efforts when it comes to fundraising for nonprofits. This means making things easy for donors and giving them enough reasons to make the donation. Mobile Giving

Giving your donors the ability to donate on the go, whenever and wherever they feel like would result in much higher amount of funds coming in. Adopting mobile giving would save a lot of time for your donors and make the process of giving pretty smooth.

Email Marketing

This should complement your social media marketing by tapping into your donor list and the data on potential donors. Emails are more personal as the message reaches the inbox directly. You need to send regular reminders to prompt your donors into action. But at the same time, make sure that you don’t send too many mails and disturb the peace of your potential donors.

Ask your volunteers and supporters

Urge your supporters and volunteers to spread the word about your campaign. Articulate and design specific messages for them to share on their individual social media accounts. Ask them to forward your mails to their mailing lists. This will not only extend your reach further but also bring in people who will be much easier to convince.

Make a last minute appeal

People are usually governed by inertia and tend to procrastinate unless they are shown the importance of the action which is to be taken. Make an emotional last minute appeal to move such people into action and also to convince the others who still require some motivation.
