Fourth of July is a time for celebrations and like any good party calls for some planning and resources. According to figures by the National Retail Foundation, more than $7 billion are spent on celebrations by Americans, on this day. Here is a sector wise analysis of July 4 expenditure across the country, as per WalletHub.
More than $5 million were sent in the import of U.S. flags.
As per AAA, some 46.9 million Americans are estimated to travel more than 50 miles over the upcoming July 4th holiday.
It was estimated last year that Americans would spend more than $388 million on hamburger patties, $389 million on barbeque chicken, $133 million on buns and $37 million just on ketchup.
More than $1 billion were spent on 4th July on beer alone, in 2016. Wine saw expenditures to the tune of $568 million.
Fireworks fetched more than $800 million in 2016. Municipalities shelled out somewhere in the range of $5000 to $30000 to host their own show.
